SILVER STREET TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
HOW RESIDENTS CAN SUPPORT THE PROJECT
1. Take a photograph or video of any Heavy Goods Vehicle that has ignored the width restriction signs along the approach to Silver Street, Stevington from the A428. Images can have to be taken using a mobile phone with no professional photography required! Please make sure you capture the license plate of the vehicle and any details of the haulage company or business to which the vehicle is affiliated.
2. Click on the link below and complete the information requested. Then upload your photo(s) and/or video using the upload button. Using the available box, please feel free to add any other comments relevant to the traffic incident you have witnessed.
3. The Clerk to the Parish Council will collate all information, photos and videos provided by residents and forward these to the Highways Deparment at Bedford Borough Council. The Borough department will either: a) Contact the haulier and/or business responsible for the vehicle using information from your photo or b) Trace the vehicle owners through the license plate.
3. Cllr. Rigby, on behalf of Stevington Parish Council, will regularly monitor the above process to ensure consistent and appropriate action is taken by the Borough Council to try and prevent or at least curb the number of vehicles attempting to gain unwarranted access into our village via Silver Street.
